MUSIC AT GRACE
Thank you to Andy D’Antonio, pianist, for the beautiful concert last Sunday, as a fundraiser for the Music ministry at Grace! It was glorious!

Thank you to all who so generously donated and have made support
for The Choral Scholarship music fund at Grace!

CHORAL SCHOLARS

Grace’s Choral Scholar program is designed to support high school music students by providing ensemble singing and performing experience. Choral scholars are fully integrated into the Parish Choir; rehearsing and singing advanced choral repertoire with dedicated and experienced adult singers.

For the term September 2023 – May 2024, we have opportunities for high school students who are actively involved in a choral ensemble at his/her high school or a vibrant Youth Choral program to sing in the Adult choir at Grace. The program is open to students who will be sophomores, juniors, or seniors in September 2023. Scholars must apply with the recommendation of his/her choral teacher and the consent of his/her parent/guardian. Students from all traditions and backgrounds are welcome; there is no requirement that scholars be Episcopalian or Christian.

Choral Scholars are fully integrated into the life of Grace’s Coventry Choir, an ensemble of dedicated, experienced adult singers and receive a stipend for their service. Choral Scholars are expected to attend all rehearsals and services sung by the choir. Rehearsals are held Sundays mornings, 8:45am – 9:45am. The Sunday morning service is 10:00am to 11:30 am.

A full season Calendar is published in the fall detailing the schedule which includes Christmas, Holy Week, and Easter among other special choral services.

If you are interested in becoming a choral scholar,
please contact Susan Jensen, Organist/ Choir Director at Grace.

CHORAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM & HOW TO SUPPORT IT

The Choral Scholarship Program at Grace was established early in 2022 and enthusiastically endorsed by our Clergy and Vestry. If you are interested in contributing to the funding of a Choral Scholarship, please contact Rev. Martin Elfert, Rector of Grace Memorial Episcopal Church or Susan Jensen, Director of Music Ministry.
We gratefully embrace and welcome your support in this important ministry at Grace.
